All Shook Up!

Small 320Scoil Mhuire are delighted to present :

Inspired by and featuring the songs of ELVIS PRESLEY. Book by JOE DIPIETRO

Thurs. 18th, Fri. 19th & Sat. 20th April 2013

The wonderful energy of this production of “All Shook Up”, Scoil Mhuire’s fifth musical, will provide everyone with an excellent evening of entertainment. The vibrant music offers an opportunity for some to reminisce and gives a chance to the younger audience to experience the vitality of the rock ‘n roll sixties.
Congratulations to the first and second year students who have been practicing diligently for months to perform this musical and display their acting, singing and dancing talents.

I wish the cast, crew and teachers involved the very best of luck with the production and appreciate the time, effort and hard work that you have given to take it to the stage.
Padraig Nolan (Principal)

It is with great pleasure that we present Scoil Mhuire’s musical production of All Shook Up. Over the past few months the first and second year students have been working on this musical and now they get to showcase their talent, passion and enthusiasm. To my wonderful cast, I would like to thank you for all of your hard work and commitment to producing an excellent show. I would like to wish you all the best of luck, enjoy every moment! I would like to extend a special thanks to my crew of directors, set designers and back stage crew for all of their help and inspiration. I appreciate all the time you have invested and the determination you have shown over the last few months. To school management, staff, Parent’s Association and to our audience, thank you for your support.
Tara Dunne, Director

Small 320Somewhere in the Midwest in the 1950's, Chad, a hip-swivelling, guitar-playing roustabout is released from prison. In a nearby dreary little town, Natalie, a young mechanic, is dreaming of love and adventure – unaware that local boy Dennis likes her.  Chad, riding into town is in need of a mechanic and he's introduced to Natalie, who is instantly smitten. She tells him of her dreams of the open road, and he tells her that she must follow her heart. Chad asks about any excitement in town, but he's told that excitement is outlawed under the Mayor's strict rules: no loud music, no indecent behaviour. Chad, incensed, promises to breathe some life into this sad, little town and he touches a broken-down jukebox, and it immediately comes to life. Mayor Matilda, Sherriff Earl and her son Dean, glamorous Sandra- owner of the local museum, Jim and pretty Lorraine are all shook up by the arrival of Chad.
Will the power of music win the day? Will true love prevail? Will this small town in the Midwest survive getting all shook up? These questions and more are answered as the characters come together for the finale.
