House examinations take place at different times throughout the year for the different year groups. These examinations provide a very useful opportunity to assess work covered to date and to prepare for the State Examinations at the end of Third Year and Sixth Year.

Timetables for individual examinations will be given by the tutor in the week preceding the exams. Normally first years will sit exams in the Sports Hall, while 2nd and 5th years will be spread through the Assembly area, Lecture Room, Library and some individual classrooms. 3rd and 6th years will also be spread throughout these rooms. Seating plans are placed outside each centre in the week before the exam.

Some basic rules for house examinations:

• Students should bring all necessary equipment with them to each exam.

• Students should only bring books for the exam they are sitting. When the examination begins books should be closed and placed gently under your desk.

• Students should clearly enter their name, their tutor group and year group and the subject being examined on the front of their answer booklet(s).

• No food or drink is allowed in the examination centre.

• Students should strive to use the time allocated for each exam correctly, students should not be finished exams with a class or more to spare.

• Absolutely no communication is allowed between students. If you are caught communicating or copying your exam may be cancelled.

• If a student requires assistance they should hold their hand up and wait for a teacher.
